I am only Human

We are blessed with everything we need. Air in our Lungs. People who love and care for us. Things that make us smile. Others that awe us and make us wonder.
Blessed with being Human, we have all the senses that we need to survive. Hands, legs so that we can work to put food on our plates and those of our families. Thanks to HIM, we have all that we need.
Then we chase what we want. This is where things go wrong.
There is nothing wrong in chasing your dreams, but they do come at a cost. More than often we aren't prepared to pay that cost. Knowingly or unknowingly, we embark upon this venture of creating fame and fortune for ourselves, much more than was cut out for us. To get there we have to go the extra mile, naturally. We do experience failure, stress, frustration, jealousy, unhappiness... basically all the worst parts of the bible. Somethings that HE wanted to shelter us from. But...
Its human to Want, but it's natural to Give. Its human to be One up on the other, but Its natural to treat the other as an equal. Its human to experience stress, jealousy, frustration, but its natural to experience peace...
Believe me. Our lives were meant to be happier and simpler and peaceful. So the next time you want some thing and try and get it, ask yourself, "Do i need this?"

Have you ever thought about the consequences of your actions? How it might affect not only your life, but also the lives those those around you. Would you be at your best behavior if you knew you were being watched all the time? Would you be thinking twice before you, speak or even wish for if you knew you were being judged with every idea that you get or every move you make.
It does sound like a song from a famous singer but the fact of the matter is HE IS WATCHING YOU. We might manage to discipline our kids by convincing them about book for Good children and another for Bad. What we forget is to keep a constant check on where our names figure. The human mind and body is prone to all kinds of illness, stress and pressure. Pressure of living, succeeding and being one up in this rat race. There is definitely no harm in being one up, but at what cost?
The word I would want to reiterate is "God Fearing". He does know all because He sees all. He isn't only watching us as we light the lamp and pray, but he is watching us as we sleep. Scary isn't it? Think before you leap. We are being watched.

The word Christmas is Old English, a contraction of Christ's Mass. (I can bet we all thought it was a substitute for party or sweets or something)

"Jingle Bells" was first written for Thanksgiving and then became one of the most popular Christmas songs.(Errr...???)

Santa Clause is the biggest mascot the world ever got. Coca Cola created him.(hmm.... now we know the reason for the paunch)

Clearing up a common misconception, in Greek, X means Christ. That is where the word "X-Mas" comes from. Not because someone took the "Christ" out of Christmas. (Atheists... listening??)

On the day of Christmas it is considered sacred to exchange kisses beneath mistletoe tree. Mistletoe was once considered the symbol of peace and friendship. That is why kissing one’s loved one on the day of Christmas is considered merry for the relationship.(So it isn't a way of proposing??)

The poinsettia is a traditional Christmas flower. In Mexico (its original birthplace), the poinsettia is known as the "Flower of the Holy Night".(Glad we finally have a name to the "Christmas flower")

In many households there is a tradition of hiding some ornament or article in the pudding. What one finds in the pudding signifies upcoming fortune.(I found a rum soaked raisin in mine. I am doomed)

Christmas is not a festival. It is the Birthday of Jesus. (What gift did you buy for him this year, eh?)

All runs in the family

As we prepare for Christmas let us all put down a to do list of "Things to do". As you meticulously pen down details of Christmas sweets, Decorations, Christmas shopping, Gifts... let us not forget the most important "Thing to do". The thing that we celebrate Christmas for. The Family!
Christmas is not only about the birth of our Saviour, but it also signifies the birth of the important institution, the family. Most of us have been blessed with this gift. While some of us have strayed away from it, others have either lost it in part or whole. What we call family goes way beyond just our parents, siblings and children. It goes into a space where we feel "at home". The people that fill that home, could range from friends or even just that loved one. The love for family can never be measured by that party you throw for a gathering or gifts that you buy for them. It is by the love that you shower them with. It is by that strong bond or connection that you have with these people.
This Christmas, let us strive to make a strong connect with our own families. Bury grudges, accept limitations and strengthen the bond. Jesus had his, and has blessed us with our own. Let us show them that you care.
